Day 7 - Yellowstone

Today we saw Yellowstone National Park. We came in the north entrance past the Roosevelt Arch.





Shortly after we entered the park, we found our first wildlife. These muledeer were drinking in the stream. At first, we thought the grass was in the way of this shot. But the grass adds some perspective to the shot. Great shot, Maria!

We saw lots of bison! This shot wasn't the closest we got to them. One was on the passenger side of the road, but Dad past it before anyone else could see it. Another was walking along and Mom put up the windows, but you almost could reach out and touch it.

Then we drove down the Lower Falls and got this shot.

Last, we stopped at Old Faithful twenty minutes before he blew. There are other geysers that blow higher and more spectacularly and other that are older that "Old" Faithful, but it tends to remain relatively consistent, blowing about every 90 minutes. It varies depending on weather, and other conditions.

Then we got Ice Cream! Yellowstone is a very large park and it took us some time to see what we saw. We missed Tower Falls and we were going to drive out thru the Tetons, but it was just too late in the afternoon.

We stopped for the night in Pocatello, Idaho.
